About Us

Hello. I am Ursula, the founder and editor of JewettStreet.com. We are a team of international travelers and enthusiastic home exchangers from around the world.  

When I started out discussing the idea of creating my own home exchange website with people, what surprised me the most was the enthusiasm everybody showed when faced with the idea. Even my local banker, a young man with a conservative outlook on life, wanted to be on my listing. This told me that more and more people from all walks of life are ready to embrace a new, more enriching vacation alternative. Many people offered their expertise and you as a member will benefit from this combined wealth of information and knowledge about home exchange and travel in the months and years to come.

Originally, I am from Switzerland. I also lived in London, French-speaking Geneva and called Massachusetts my home for over 10 years. Presently, I live on beautiful Lake Starnberg south of Munich, Germany, with my family. I traveled extensively for business all over the world and though, I must admit, I enjoyed the comfort and atmosphere a luxury hotel had to offer, hotel life became interchangeable over time. Not so with home exchange!  A life without home exchange would be unimaginable for me now.
We and our members have found home exchange to be a great way to live as the locals do far off the beaten track, to form lasting friendships and to discover other cultures. Home exchange is perfectly suited for traveling with children.

It is our goal to provide and add new listings continually, from all over the world and to make JewettStreet.com a meeting place for avid home exchangers. Our marketing and advertising expenses are focused on increasing the numbers on our listings to give you the broadest choice to arrange the perfect home exchange for you.

What’s the story behind the name?

People have asked me many times – why JewettStreet of all names?
During my formative years I had the great fortune to live with my extended American family on a beautiful estate at Jewett Street in a small New England town. With their greatness of mind and heart they have been a role model to me to this day. Their amazing knowledge and insight of American history, art and life has influenced me deeply.
The name of this website is homage to my extended American family and to a very important time in my life.
